Muffins for Cavemen?

I know, I'm totally biased but isn't he just the cutest thing ever?  Cooper's class had "Muffins for Mom" today at his school.  Basically, we go have muffins/coffee and listen to a couple of songs from the children.  The kids are so proud of themselves, it would melt even the toughest heart.

So, we started the Paleo diet on Monday, and well.....basically it's no grains whatsoever.  I've been kicking some serious booty so far on it (4 lbs down this morning), needless to say I was quite torn about what to do with the muffin on my plate.  Truth is, my willpower is not one of my strong points. Especially when the object of my attention is a yummy looking blueberry muffin.  Somehow I found resolve and made it out with nary a nibble. It was one of those "GO AMY" moments, where I'll be strutting around the rest of day.

What's Paleo?  In a nutshell..... it's the diet of cavemen.  It's heavy into grass fed beef, wild caught fish, free range chicken and wild game and  excludes grains,  salt, refined sugar, legumes, dairy products and processed oils.  I may just be drinking the kool-aid but honestly in only a week, I feel so much lighter.  I don't feel that heaviness you do after eating a dense meal.  Going off the grains may be the easiest since Danny and I rarely eat bread.  I'm most worried about the legumes and of course the dairy. Beer is definitely on the no/no list, they are suggesting tequila. Well,  it will be cheaper since one tequila shot usually sets me on my ass. I signed up for the Crossfit 8 week challenge, I think I've got good odds to win if I can just eat clean.

BUT if you see Danny and I in pelts running down Holt Rd carrying spears please...please talk some sense into us!
